Are You Standing at the Red Sea?

Have you ever thought how the Israelites must have felt when they were standing at the edge of the Red Sea with Pharaoh’s army getting closer and closer?  They must have been thinking “there’s no way out of this”.  Then, to make matters even more interesting, Moses tells them to just stand still and they’ll see the salvation of their God.

I don’t know about you, but when I’m standing at the edge of my own “red sea” (and we all have them), standing still when “Pharaoh’s army” is on my heels is not something I relish doing.  I want to run; I want to fix things; I want to DO something.  And certainly there is a time to act.  But sometimes, the very best thing you can do is get alone with God in a quiet place, and listen.  Is it easy?  No, not always.  But as a sacred woman, you have the privilege of getting very intimate with your God, and with your own soul, and it’s a marvel sometimes what will come up as you get quiet and listen.

I’m sensing there are many of you who are facing your own “red sea”.  If that’s you, then know that listening to what your soul is really speaking to you about your next steps is imperative for you to experience breakthrough.  I know how easy it is to rush ahead and try to part the red sea on your own.  But remember, such is how “Ishmael’s” are created.  (Think Abraham).  Here are a few things you can do that based on my experience are very helpful:

  • Make self-care a very high priority. Sleep, exercise, and eat in the best possible way.  Drink plenty of green juices and keep your body in top form.  Doing these things will also help your emotions in a big way.
  • Recognize the blessings along the way and be very, very grateful for the “small” things. The reality is – those small things are really the big things because they are the very things God is using to show you how much He loves you, and how intimately acquainted He is with what you’re going through.
  • Declare His word, out loud, every day. Very important!  And watch your words as well.  You don’t want to be like the Israelites who spent all their time complaining while they were in the wilderness.
  • Take time for fun, whatever that looks like for you.
  • Get outside every day and just breathe the fresh air, and let the sun soak your body with light for 15 minutes or so.
  • Get whatever support you need, and be open to new support systems.

And finally, always remember that no season lasts forever.  You will rise more powerful, more brilliant, and with a deeper understanding of what it really means to “be seated in heavenly places in Christ Jesus”.  This red sea experience could be the very catalyst to your deepest dreams and desires coming to life on a whole new level!
